Brad’s Rants: Using Imagination
My mom lives on a marsh in Cape Cod.
I venture into it with boots up to my knees.
Jumping across the tidal rivers, I’ll inevitably sink into the mud.
Almost two feet sunk into the muck.
Pulling them out is always a problem.
If I pull straight up, my boot will come off.
If I move side to side, the boot will fill up with water.
So what to do?
I use my imagination.
Part intellect, part feeling my way through it.
I gravitate here, to jumping over rivers.
To places and events that aren’t ordinary.
That can create “problems.”
I know where I’m going.
Yet many of the steps are unknown.
My imagination helps me through.
