Today we’re going to take a look at our latest and greatest aromatherapy blend: Sleep! This blend was created to help you count sheep with its light, lovely, and calming scent. Before we get into what makes this blend so special, let’s refresh our memories on how aromatherapy works. It’s pretty simple – we call it the sensory superhighway. From there, these smells can impact the way we feel, recall memories, or help lull us to sleep.

After fielding many requests to create an essential oil blend specifically to help make going to bed a little sweeter, our R&D Department, in-house cosmetic chemists, and essential oil expert and co-founder Susan Griffin-Black got to work.
The goal was to make a blend that featured classic essential oils known for their relaxing properties (Lavender, Orange, and Cedarwood are all well known for this) as well as introducing some oils that are less popular but traditionally believed to be just as effective (Hinoki and Holy Basil). The result is a sweet, slightly-floral blend with grounding woody, grassy notes.

 

Some essential oil hacks for this blend:

 

Perhaps the best use for this oil is in an Aromatherapy Diffuser in your bedroom. Add a few drops an hour before hitting the hay and set the mood for a more peaceful snooze.

 

Add a drop or two to a quarter-sized dollop of Unscented Lotion or body oil and gently massage your neck and shoulders before bed.

 

A simple mixture of water, a splash of vodka (optional, but will help the scent linger), and some Sleep will make for a soothing essential oil room spray.
