Taking my Space from the Past to the Future

Changing My Space

Apparently, I’ve been seen through the lens of my office.

I’m a handyman. A good tinkerer. My office has been filled with shelves of projects, tools, and pieces of equipment. It’s been referred to as ‘Brad’s Cave’.

I recently decided to get rid of all the stuff. I’m ready to redefine myself, again, by what the future is going to bring rather than what the past has left behind. My office will reflect this.

I expected to have a hard time cleaning my office. What am I supposed to do with the cool yardstick thingy that was left by the Industrial Light Magic people? What about all these cool tags that I made for the refill bar that had to come down?

I didn’t expect it to affect other people at work. As the space becomes more and more minimal and clean, people have been checking in. They want to know that the ‘Cave’ will still be here. It’s been interesting, seeing how much people see me through my space.

I know this is just part of the cycle. I’ll get my space into a quiet, minimalist sanctuary. Then, within weeks, it’ll be the norm again.
